Cure Snoring Problem Naturally in 6 Easy Steps

After countless studies, research has uncovered that sleep apnea is one of the main causes of snoring in both men and women. It is a disorder that can change the way you breathe and swallow while sleeping. Apnea occurs as the result of an airway that has collapsed, making it much more difficult for air to pass through the lungs and the entire body. There are plenty of ‘cure remedies’ such as the compression stocking which drives blood back to the heart to prevent swelling and snoring. Unfortunately, these types of remedies are extremely uncomfortable and are often used temporarily. There are also many snoring devices such as mouth guards and mouthpieces the claim to reduce snoring, however, most cannot be used for sleep apnea. Consider following these 6 techniques to reduce snoring naturally and wake up feeling refreshed.

  • Avoid sleeping on your back. By laying on your side or stomach it will reduce snoring as it changes airway vibrations. Unbalanced airways can produce the sound and instability increases when the body is facing upwards. To rest comfortably and reduce noise, use pillows against your back to avoid rolling over.
  • Train your body to stop snoring. By working out the upper airways of your lungs you can increase the control that you have over airway dilation. You can have more control over breathing by performing exercises – similar movements to how you’d play an instrument. By learning how to control the area you can prevent excessive snoring.
  • Don’t drink alcohol late at night. Alcohol functions as a muscle relaxer and when the airway is too relaxed it will lead to loud breathing. If you usually have a couple of glasses of wine with dinner, try to eat and drink earlier on in the evening (at least 3 hours before going to bed.)
  • Watch your weight. One of the quickest ways to cut out snoring is by improving your weight. If you have recently gained pounds it can cause more pressure in and around the neck area, changing the internal throat diameter – making it more likely to collapse and produce the sound.
  • Keep your Nasal Passages Open. Heavy breathing begins in the nose and keeping nasal passages open will help air travel through slowly. If the nose is clogged, air moves through at a faster rate and emits loud noise. Use a saltwater solution to rinse out the passages or try nasal strips.
  • Drink plenty of water. If your body is dehydrated, the soft palate within your nose can become sticky and also produce a loud sound. By drinking more water it will clean out the secretion and also help you fall asleep faster.

Note that if you are taking a medication it could contribute to an increased amount of snoring. By improving your health, diet and drinking more water you will get a better night’s sleep and breathe easily throughout the night. If you aren’t sure as to whether or not you have sleep apnea, confide in a doctor who will help find solutions so that you not only get a good night’s sleep but increase the oxygen being delivered to your mind and body. Learning how to reduce snoring will not only improve your sleep but contribute to your overall health. If after attempting these natural methods of stopping snoring for multiple weeks you are still struggling to sleep consider snoring mouthpiece devices such as SnoreRx or ZQuiet. The Good Morning Snore Solution also is an alternative to a mouth guard that is successful for many of our readers. See the full Good Morning Snore Solution review here.
