5 Easy Snoring Hacks That Just Might Work

Need a life-hack to fix your snoring problem? As it turns out, snoring can sometimes be a simple fix – if you know what to try!

In this blog post, we’re going to share 5 nifty snoring life-hacks that just might give you the edge you need to solve the problem – for good!

1# Use a humidifier

As it turns out, sleeping with a humidifier on in your room can sometimes make a big difference – especially if your snoring is due to allergies or nasal congestion. Dry air can irritate the airway, and can make you more likely to snore – so putting some moisture into the air might do wonders to help you overcome the problem.

2# Turn over onto your side

It might seem like a fix that’s almost too simple to work – but believe it or not, sleeping on your back can sometimes put more pressure on the airways, causing them to collapse. This makes soft palate vibration (the primary cause of snoring) much more likely to occur.

Turning onto your side, however, can relieve some of this pressure and constriction. This, in turn, can help your airways to stay more open as you sleep, which could cut down a lot on snoring.

Tip: Some people have a tough time with this one because it can be difficult to stay on your side if you’re used to sleeping on your back. For this reason, some people opt to tie tennis balls to the back of their pyjamas – which is like a home-remedy for staying off of your back while sleeping, and it actually works quite well!

3# Take singing lessons

Ok, this one isn’t quite as verified as some of the others – but there’s enough merit to it that there are some singing instructors who actually offer specific classes aimed at toning the muscles in the soft palate – just to help people who snore to stop snoring!

Soft palate vibration can, in theory, be fixed by toning the muscles enough to tighten up the loose tissue that blocks the airway during sleep. And singing can certainly work the related muscles enough to make a difference.

It might not work for everyone – but it’s certainly worth a try, especially if you enjoy singing and don’t really want to bother with anti-snoring products if you don’t have to!

4# Buy some new pillows

Once again, this method might not help everyone – but believe it or not, some cases of snoring are caused or made worse by allergic reactions to allergens and dust mites. And both of these tend to thrive in older pillows.

Buying new pillows will remove such infestations from your bedroom – and in doing so, will promote cleaner air and a lower percentage of allergens. This just might be the ‘magic bullet’ that you need to kick your snoring problems for good!

5# Avoid excessive alcohol use

Drinking can be a lot of fun – but it can also lead to an increase in snoring! Since alcohol is a depressant, it tends to relax the muscles more than usual. And whenever muscles in the throat region relax, the odds for snoring go up!

To avoid this, consider not going to bed intoxicated. Drinking less or not at all can certainly have a positive impact.

In conclusion

There are a ton of ways to help your snoring problem – but remember that, sometimes, home remedies can only go so far. If you suffer from obstructive sleep apnea, then you might need to visit your doctor or undergo a sleep study to get a diagnosis and treatment for the problem. There are also some awesome stop-snoring devices out on the market nowadays – and you can find many of the highest-reviewed products right on this website.

Finding a cure for snoring is becoming easier and easier – but the solution may be a bit different for everyone. So don’t stop looking, and don’t give up!
