Hello and welcome to SnoreNation.com where our mission is to share with you our discoveries in the world of sleep and sleep disorders.
Snore Nation was established in 2013 with the goal to share my personal experiences dealing with snoring and mild sleep apnea, and to provide an in-depth guide and information about self-help remedies, treatments and anti-snoring products available to buy online for everyone.
We all need a good night’s sleep, right? Whether you are a snorer or the partner of a snorer, you know and understand that groggy feeling that comes from a disturbed night’s sleep and the way it can affect your work, your diet, your mood and dare I say it, your marriage. Sleep is important – but you know that or you probably wouldn’t be here.
I know it too. I am Robert and I am a snorer… According to my wife, I am actually a pretty bad snorer. I kind of knew it was a problem when she decided enough was enough and she moved to the spare room. That’s a pretty big hint. So I headed off to the doctor only to be diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. That’s pretty shocking. I was young, a parent to 2 small children, just a few pounds overweight (OK, maybe more than a few pounds!) and I tried to stay active.
I got a wake up call – ironically.
So what’s a man to do? He gets on the internet and he finds a solution - that’s what he does. As well as taking my health a little more seriously, I discovered a number of natural remedies and snoring aids that promised results and after some trial and error I found some that worked pretty well. The blog which documented my journey and highlighted the news and devices that i found along the way also started to work pretty well and I realised that sharing my discoveries in the world of snoring was something that I could and should do.
So here I am a reformed snorer, a reformed smoker, a reformed overeater, a reformed city dweller and a reformed workaholic stress monster. I am a calmer, nicer person, my wife who is a photographer is no longer grumpy due to a lack of sleep, my kids love me just a little bit more and life is generally much better.
Stopping snoring without surgery or the dreaded CPAP machine, takes much more than inserting a mouthpiece and settling down for a great night of dreams - it takes much more than that. But having that good night of sleep helps to give you the energy to change. If I can do it, then I bet you can too.
I continue to work on myself constantly and that means researching snoring and all the health issues associated with it. I test everything that I review, I read studies, I follow latest sleep disorder news and I keep you all informed.
Thankfully I love the world of snoring, as weird as that might seem and my aim is to help all snorers to become ex-snorers.
Here at Snore Nation, I have set out some clear principles that we strive for so we can provide you with a single place to get the better sleep advice, without all the confusion that you might find elsewhere.
